Juventus suffer injury setback ahead of AC Milan showdown

Juventus will reportedly be without midfielder Blaise Matuidi against AC Milan on Saturday, as the Frenchman continues to struggle with injury.

The 30-year-old has missed the last two league outings, and according to Sky Sport, he will not recover in time for the trip to the San Siro.

Matuidi is said to have been unable to train with the rest of the squad, joining Stefano Sturaro, Marko Pjaca and Benedikt Howedes as an injury concern.

None of the four in question are expected to feature against Milan, but Juve hope that Massimiliano Allegri will be able to welcome the Frenchman and Sturaro back for the Champions League encounter with Sporting Lisbon next Tuesday.

With Matuidi unavailable, Allegri could opt for a midfield duo of Miralem Pjanic and Sami Khedira against the Rossoneri, as Juve look to close the three-point gap to Serie A leaders Napoli.
