Juvenuts: Barzagli carted off with shoulder injury in Chievo clash
The Italian defender was replaced by Leonardo Bonucci who is not in perfect physical conditions and was expected not to play today’s game to recover from a muscle injury he had picked up earlier this week in the Champions League match against Lyon.
Barzagli was carted off and brought to Verona hospital where he will undergo medical examination straight away. Juventus medical staff fears Barzagli could be set for a lengthy lay-off as the Itaian centre-back’s feeling lot of pain to his shoulder.
According to reports, the injury could involve also the shoulder’s tendon which would make it longer for Barzagli to recover in a short period of time.
Max Allegri is now short of options in defence with Giorgio Chiellini who is also going to remain out of action for the next few weeks.
