Khedira: ‘Sad to see Buffon crying’

Italy failed to qualify for the FIFA World Cup when they lost 1-0 on aggregate to Sweden on Monday. This was the first time after 1958 that the Azzurri have failed to qualify for the World Cup.
Buffon broke down in an interview following the game, provoking international sympathy. It wasn’t just in Italy that people sympathized with the veteran, but the wave was felt in Germany as well.
Khedira, Buffon’s Juve teammate, told BILD: "Seeing Buffon cry is bad for everyone, not just Italians . Gigi is a living legend . It's a phrase used too often, but for him I can use it honestly. I was hoping I could see him play his last international tournament. "
