Speaking at an award ceremony earlier today,  Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi was asked if he would continue in the role next season. He explained that; “I’m happy with what I’ve done. I arrived at a difficult time but I’m serene, we will see what the club decides”.

 

When it was put to him that there were other names in the frame for the position, Inzaghi replied; “It doesn’t bother me, it’s usual for a club to do this,” before joking that “If it was up to me I’d give Inzaghi the job”. He continued by stating that; “It’s every coaches aim to start the new season in employment and we will see what happens. Hopefully, it will be here with Lazio but if not, well, life goes on. I did feel ready for the leap to Serie A after spending six years working with the junior squads. In the few games that I’ve been in charge I managed to display my abilities and this has been noted by the club”.
