Leeds United look to their former striker to take over Elland Road hot-seat

Reports in The Mirror suggest that Leeds United may turn to one of their former stars to take over the vacant managerial seat at Elland Road. The journal states that Dutchman Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is being lined-up to replace Garry Monk who resigned at the end of last season.

Hasselbaink, now 45, was a club legend during his time in West Yorkshire back in the 1990’s and in the two season’s that he was leading to forward line, the club finished fifth and fourth in the Premier League. Ex-chairman Massimo Cellino is understood to have wanted to speak to Hasselbaink before appointing Monk last summer but the Dutchman rejected his advances.

Now under the guidance of Andrea Radrizzani, Leeds could be about to make another move for the former Burton Albion and Queens Park Rangers boss with latest reports suggesting that he is on a two-man shortlist with former Middlesbrough gaffer Aitor Karanka.
