Leicester City, Ranieri and Vardy’s first words as Premier League champions

He’s the man of the day, maybe of the year. Claudio Ranieri has won the Premier League with Leicester City, a team that hardly managed to survive English top-flight last season.

Talking to Sky News, the Italian tactician couldn’t hide his happiness for reaching such a historic achievement: “I am old, so I can remember it better. I am very happy for everyone here: president, fans and all the people of Leicester.”

“I don’t know what’s our secret, players gave their heart and soul. It’s just the way they’ve played. Now we want to improve even more. That is not a revenge, I’ve had a good career.

The Foxes’ leading scorer Jamie Vardy watched Chelsea-Tottenham from his house in Leicester alongside his teammates, here’s what he told Sky News: “It’s incredible. I’ve never felt something like this before. This team battled it out to survive last season and next Saturday we’ll lift the Premier League title.”

“That’s the most important success in the history of this great club and it is an absolute privilege to be part of it. Winning the title alongside this guys makes it more special.”
