From being diagnosed at age eleven to turning into one of the world's two best footballers, it's been a heck of a ride for Lionel Messi. 

Last night, the Argentine scored his 500th goal with the Blaugrana shirt, stunning the world by taking the game to Real Madrid and helping the Catalans win 3-2, not to mention reopening the Liga title race. 

The Cules are now level on points with Real, but have played a game more.
