Marcello Lippi has been speaking at his presentation as new Head Coach of the Chinese national football team. The 2006 World Cup winning tactician was asked if he thought that China could one day qualify for  the World Cup finals, to which he responded; “Now we will get to work immediately, myself and all my staff will try to do something that currently seems impossible. I don’t know whether we will succeed but we will all give it our best shot”.
 

He continued by declaring that; “We will try to create a fantastic team spirit in which everyone feels part of. Wearing the Chinese jersey must give the players great energy. We will try to develop our tactics and I’m delighted to have been offered this position”.  

 Lippi spent three successful seasons in the Far-East as coach of Guangzhou Evergrande and he stated that; “I’ve always appreciated the warmth shown towards myself and my staff in this country. I have always thought of returning here one day”.
