Lippi defends Ancelotti: ‘The only one who could replace Sarri’

Following the defeat away at Arsenal, many Napoli fans were left frustrated with their head coach Carlo Ancelotti. However, the former Italy manager Marcello Lippi has defended the 59-year-old in an interview with Radio Sportiva.

"Ancelotti? He is the right person for any team in the world and there is no doubt that when Sarri left they needed a prestigious coach. Now he has to fix the things that broke down against Arsenal," he stated.

The Partenopei lost the game by two goals to nil after the home side scored two early goals in the first half. Funnily enough, the soon-to-be Juventus player Aaron Ramsey scored the first, while the second came from a shot by former Sampdoria man Torreira, who was heavily linked with Napoli last summer.

Should Napoli fail to beat Chievo this evening, then Juventus will have secured the league title. Therefore, anything but a win would be devastating for Ancelotti.
