Liverpool ace admits Juventus offer

Juventus chief executive Beppe Marotta has revealed his club made a bid forLiverpool’s Emre Can this past summer. Germany international recently admitted it was an ‘honour’ to receive such an offer from the Serie A giants.

Speaking to Kicker, Can said, “It's always an honour to receive an offer from such a renowned club, but currently I am only focused on the season with Liverpool. My agent takes care of the rest.” He went on to say, “The Premier League is just a really cool league, the most interesting in the world, but you must always respect other big clubs and leagues."

Can has made 94 Premier League appearances since his move from Bayer Leverkusen to Anfield in 2014 but the 23-year-old midfielder was being heavily linked with a move away from Merseyside ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.

So far there is no signing and that is the situation," said his Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp. "We are still in talks. Do I think it is too cool that we didn't fix it so far? No, to be honest, but it is all OK at the moment and we have to take it like this.”

"His mind is not elsewhere. It is an important contract for him at his age. I am 100 percent sure that we don't sell the player now in this situation. Not a player from the first-team lineup for sure. He will play here for the next year that is for sure. All the rest we have to see.”
