Liverpool agree deal to bring Chelsea striker to Anfield

Out of contract, out of favour and soon to be out of the club and heading north; that’s the latest news from The Liverpool Echo who claim that Liverpool have agreed a deal with Chelsea for young striker Dominic Solanke.

The 19-year-old is coming to the end of his current deal at Stamford Bridge and has failed to come to an agreement on a new contract. The player has been frozen out of the first-team squad all season and has repeatedly turned down offers from the champions to prolong his career in West London.

With the likes of Tammy Abraham set to return to the club after his loan-spell at Bristol City, Solanke’s future development looks best served away from the capital and Jurgen Klopp has offered the youngster a Premier League lifeline at Anfield.

Because of the player’s age, the transfer fee will go to a tribunal where it’s expected that the Merseyside club will have to pay £3M to secure his services but it’s believed that Klopp has guaranteed the player a chance in the starting XI next season.
