Liverpool and Barcelona have been dealt major transfer blows as Marc Overmars could bring both Kasper Dolberg and Matthijs de Ligt to Arsenal, if the Dutchman joins the London based club next season, if reports from Mundo Deportivo are to be believed.

 

It is believed that Overmars is very close to joining Arsenal as the club's Director of Football and will act as an assistant to Arsene Wenger in all sporting matters.

 

Barcelona fear that if Overmars does go to Arsenal, he won't do it alone. He will look to take both striker Kasper Dolberg and defender Matthijs de Ligt with him to the Emirates and both are players that the Catalans are looking at.

 

They see Dolberg as a striker who can play second-fiddle to Luis Suarez and after some years, become the regular first choice at the club. Robert Fernandez has reportedly already held talks to sign the young Dane and may well look to sign him in January and will loan him back to Ajax with a view of keeping him away from Arsenal.
