Liverpool and Chelsea eye double Serie A bargain

Liverpool and Chelsea are keen to sign both Faouzi Ghoulam and Stefan De Vrij, according to several reports in Italy. Both players will see their contract expire at the end of the season and there is still no agreement between them and their clubs.

Both players, in fact, want to add a release clause in their contracts but the transfer fee they want to add in their deals is too low for both Napoli and Lazio.

Ghoulam (Napoli) is regarded as the best left-back in Serie A after Juventus’ Alex Sandro, a long time Chelsea target. De Vrij is being followed by both Premier League giants as well as Juventus.

Each one of these clubs will be closely monitoring the situations of Ghoulam and De Vrij given that they would have a chance to sign them for free at the end of the season if players fail to pen a new deal by the beginning of January.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis revealed last week that Ghoulam will leave Napoli at the end of the season if he doesn’t accept the release clause offered by Napoli which is believed to be in the region of € 40 million.

The player’s agent Jorge Medes want the player’s minimum transfer fee to be in the region of € 20 million.
