Liverpool and Everton to go head to head for Italy star striker

Liverpool and Everton are interested in signing Italy and Torino star striker Andrea Belotti, the Daily Star claims.
According to the British tabloid, Everton have just joined the Reds in race to sign the highly rated 22-year-old striker who is imposing himself as Italy’s best centre forward.

Scorer of eight goals in the opening 11 games of the season, Belotti made his senior debut with Italy national team last September and has already scored three goals in five appearances with the azzurri under his former boss Giampiero Ventura.

On the one hand, Everton are considering signing Belotti at the end of the season to replace Romelu Lukaku who could leave the Goodison Park amid Chelsea links. Liverpool, on the other hand, could be looking for a new striker in case Daniel Sturridge is shown the exit Anfield Road’s exit door either in January or next summer.

Belotti is not likely to leave Torino in the winter transfer window as the Serie A side are set to offer him a new deal to extend his stay at the club. The Italy International’s current deal expires in 2020 but Torino President Urbano Cairo wants to offer him a contract extension with pay rise as well as including a € 60 million release clause in Belotti’s new Torino contract.
