Liverpool hope as Barcelona eye Coutinho alternative
Thiago, 26, joined the Bavarian outfit from Barcelona back in 2013 for €25 million fee and has, since established himself as not just an important player for the Bundesliga giants, but has also become one of the best midfielders in the world. Don Balon suggest that the Catalans are eyeing Thiago as the alternative to Coutinho and are still looking to bring in a marquee player.
Barcelona still have a lot of cash in their vault after Neymar’s big money sale to Paris Saint-Germain this past summer and were rejected multiple times in their attempts to sign Coutinho as the Reds stood firm in their stance of not selling the Brazilian superstar. This season, the Spaniard has made six appearances for Bayern and has missed four games due to injury.
