Liverpool in more hot water over "tapping up" claims regarding England Under-20 hero

Less than a week after being reported to the Premier League for an illegal approach for Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk, comes the news that Chelsea could now be set to do the same over the Merseyside club’s signing of young England striker Domenic Solanke. According to an exclusive in Sunsport, the final fee for the player will be settled by a tribunal and that could once again throw the spotlight back on the Anfield club.

Chelsea are believed to be furious that another of their young players has gone to one of their bitterest Premier League rivals after they lost striker Rhian Brewster back in 2015. The 17-year-old has now made his first-team debut under Jurgen Klopp but it’s this latest move for Solanke which has incensed the Premier League champions.

Under current rules, out-of-contract players can talk to domestic clubs after the third week in May; The Sun claims that they reported back in February that Solanke was heading to Anfield at the end of the season and according to sources, he actually said goodbye to his colleagues before the end of the last campaign.

Although Liverpool announced that personal terms had been agreed on May 30, Chelsea could once again make a formal complaint to the Premier League as what they see as the “tapping up” of another of their young stars. Both clubs have declined to comment.
