Liverpool & Juve boost as Man City retire from race to sign Serie A star

Liverpool and Juventus are still looking for some defensive reinforcements and both European giants are keeping a close eye on Serie A.

The likes of Stefan De Vrij and Faouzi Ghoulam have all been linked with joining either the Reds of the bianconeri but the Napoli star (Ghoulam) was also reported to be a transfer target of Manchester City.

Scouts of the Premier League giants have been watching the 25-year-old several times this season as Pep Guardiola is desperate to sign a replacement for Benjamin Mendy who picked up a knee injury and will be ruled out for several months.

According to our sources, however, the Citizens are not interesting anymore in signing the Algeria International.

Napoli won’t let him leave in the January window and Man City don’t want to make any offer. Things could change in the summer especially if Ghoulam won’t pen a new deal with the partenopei. As of today, however, the Algerian full-back is not a transfer target of Man City anymore.
