Liverpool linked with loan move for Inter outcast

Liverpool could offer a lifeline to Brazilian striker Gabriel Barbosa or “Gabigol”. Having shot to stardom back in his home country with Santos, the 20-year-old failed to live up to expectation in Italy last season after his £26.4M move to Inter in 2016. As the club suffered a difficult time on and off the pitch, the youngster was omitted from the starting XI by three different managers as the Nerazzurri missed out on European football this term.

According to Bleacher Report however, there may be a silver lining for Gabigol with the portal claiming that Inter may be ready to sanction a loan-deal and that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp remains interested in taking him to Anfield. The German tactician made enquiries about the player’s availability in January but the two clubs failed to reach an agreement.

Having already been linked with a possible move to Las Palmas this summer, the Brazilian is also understood to be on the radars of a host of other Premier League clubs including Southampton, Leicester City, Stoke , West Ham and Swansea.

Bleacher Report also believes that Gabigol would be able to receive a work permit to play in England due to his stature within the game.
