Liverpool: Klopp admits that Brazilian midfielder has a future at Anfield

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has insisted that Brazilian midfielder Lucas Leiva has a future at the club after scoring his side’s winner in Wednesday night’s FA Cup third round replay win over Plymouth Argyle.

He 30-year-old had been heavily linked to a January move to Inter but after scoring his first goal for the club in six years, his manager stated that; “From my point of view he will be staying. What is definitely in this job? We have a kind of agreement. So I would say yes."

Lucas was captain of the side that disposed of the League 2 side and scored the only goal after 18 minutes, Klopp also declared after the game that; “I was really surprised he didn't score for that long. But he has a great personality, is a good player and a really good guy. Sometimes you have to line up without him, and it's not his hobby to accept this. But he's okay and really important for us."
