Liverpool: Lucas Leiva set for Lazio medical ahead of €5.5m move

Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva is set to have his medical with Lazio on Monday, according to reports in Italy. The Brazilian star is set to move to the Olimpico for € 5.5 million with the two clubs that have already agreed the player’s price-tag.

Lucas is set to replace Lucas Biglia who has just left the Italian capital to join AC Milan on a € 17-million-deal plus add-ons. Leiva, 30, joined Liverpool from Gremio for € 10 back in 2007 and he is now set to leave Anfield Road after 346 games seven goals and 21 assists with the Reds.

The Brazilian midfielder won’t take part to tonight’s friendly match between Liverpool and Wigan, another proof that he is set to move to Lazio.

Leiva is expected to arrive in Italy in the coming hours. On Monday he will have his medical with the Serie A side beginning a new chapter of his career after a 10-year-spell at Liverpool.
