Liverpool-Napoli: De Laurentiis say qualification is 'not important'

Napoli chairman Aurelio de Laurentiis has commented that the club's failure to qualify for the UEFA Champions League will not change anything and is not too important.

The partenopei head to Anfield in a bid to qualify for the round of 16 and if Liverpool do score one goal and win by 1-0, Napoli will go out. If Carlo Ancelotti's men score, Liverpool will have to win by a two goal margin to qualify.

De Laurentiis was recently talking to the press before Napoli's game against the Reds and he revealed that it won't be too much of an issue for the club if they don't qualify for the next round.

The Italian said: "Going out of the Champions League or continuing does not change anything.

"Napoli is not a pacifier, but a horse. We have kept our reins to try to reach the finish line and stay in Europe and keep going."

"The great purchase of the season is Carlo Ancelotti, you have to give him time to heal as much as you give him. I'm happy to have found a manager like him in the world of cinema."
