Liverpool: Salah's medical put back 24 hours - the details

Mohamed Salah’s move to Liverpool is almost completed but the players medical now looks likely to be put back 24 hours. The Liverpool Echo states that although the Egyptian international arrived in London on Tuesday evening, negotiations with his current club Roma have delayed his arrival on Merseyside.

The club transfer record will go when the agreement is signed with the 25-year-old likely to cost £40M including the add-ons that will accompany his move to Anfield. Liverpool’s previous record was the £35M they paid Newcastle United for Andy Carroll back in 2011.

Many eyebrows have been raised over the size of the fee for a player who netted 19 times in Serie A last term but who has yet to prove himself in the Premier League after a disappointing spell with Chelsea back in 2014, led to his loan move to Fiorentina, then to the Eternal City. Salah is set to become the club’s second signing following striker Dominic Solanke’s move from Chelsea.
