Liverpool are set to win the race for 17-year-old striking sensation Ben Brereton. According to reports in The Mirror, the Merseyside club, who have already had a £2.5 million bid rejected by Nottingham Forest, will make another approach for the youngster in the summer.
 

Brereton has set the football world alight with some outstanding performances in the youth ranks for the club from the East Midlands. He also grabbed a dramatic injury-time winner against Aston Villa last weekend, his first senior goal for Forest. Liverpool’s bitter rivals Manchester United are also tracking the player but the journal predicts that his future will be at Anfield and not Old Trafford.
