Liverpool star 'happy to be back' amid PSG interest

Liverpool attacking-midfielder Phillipe Coutinho admits that he is happy to be back with the club amid fresh interest from French side Paris Saint-Germain, according to The Daily Mirror.

PSG are huge admirers of the Brazilian international, and, it is thought, that they will engineer a move from him if they fail to land wonderkid Kylian Mbappe from domestic rivals Monaco.

However, Coutinho is under contract to Liverpool, in a deal that will see him playing at Anfield until 2022, with the Reds insisting that one of their top players is not for sale.

To top this, the 25-year-old arrived in Melwood on Tuesday to undergo a fitness assessment. He spoke to press, saying, “I am very happy to be back here and I am ready to start pre-season."

“I had a very good summer with my family and friends in Brazil and had enough time to rest and enjoy it. To be honest, it was not that hot there - but still a little bit warmer than here!

“It was nice to come back in and see my team-mates. I’m not training with them yet, but soon I will be back with them and I’m looking forward to that.”
