Liverpool to complete Salah deal by the end of the week

With reports on Sunday afternoon claiming that Liverpool had finally met Roma’s asking price for Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah, comes the news that Reds boss Jurgen Klopp should have the deal tied up by the end of the week. The Express quotes the Daily Telegraph who write that the German tactician is closing in on his second signing of the summer.

Having initially had a £28M offer rejected, the Merseyside giants returned with another bid over the weekend and are now understood to have met the Italian side’s £35M asking price. Three years ago, Liverpool tried to sign Salah but the player opted to join Jose Mourinho who was then in charge at Chelsea. After a loan spell at Fiorentina, the 24-year-old headed to the Eternal City where he has been in scintillating form over the past 12 months.

With young English striker Domenic Solanke set to be officially unveiled when the window opens on July 1, Red’s fans may also be about to welcome Salah to Anfield as the club’s summer revamp continues.
