Liverpool to test Southampton's patience with a move for Serbian midfielder

Reports in The Times states that Liverpool are about to test Southampton’s resolve once again as the plot to bring Serbian midfielder Dusan Tadic to Anfield this summer. After the fiasco surrounding their failed bid to bring Dutchman Virgil van Dijk to Merseyside, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp looks set to make a move for the 26-year-old who is understood to have a £13M release clause in his current contract.

Tadic arrived at St Mary’s during the time of Ronald Koeman but it’s since the Dutchman left last summer that he has begun to have a major influence on the team. With The Saints reporting the Reds to the Premier League for making an illegal approach for van Dijk, which ultimately ended with Liverpool making a statement that they had withdrawn their interest, the relationship between the two clubs is strained.

Because Tadic has the release clause, it should prevent any repeat of the situation with his Dutch team-mate but the journal does state that West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic also has an interest in the player.
