Liverpool tracking German Under-21 star as Klopp's summer spending continues

Despite having just secured the services of Mohamed Salah from Roma, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is continuing to monitor the progress of German Under-21 star Max Meyer. The player is currently representing his country at the European Champions in Poland and the speedy winger is still understood by the Daily Star to be a target for his fellow countryman at Anfield.

The Schalke 04 star plays in a similar role to that of Egyptian international Salah but despite this Klopp, a long term admirer of the youngster, could be tempted to launch an attack to the Bundeslga outfit.

Meyer only has one year left on his current deal in Gelsenkirchen and Klopp believes he can secure his signature for a knock-down £20M if the player is willing to join him on Merseyside next season. The player has already expressed a desire to play in the Premier League and has reportedly refused to negotiate a new deal with his current employer.
