There is pressure on Roma to renew Daniele De Rossi’s expiring contract and Coach Luis Enrique tried to reassure the fans about it: the midfielder is going nowhere.
The Spaniard claimed that in his opinion De Rossi will stay at the Olimpico although El Mundo Deportivo now reports of an interest from Real Madrid.
“I think Daniele will stay in Roma,” said Luis Enrique. “It is up to the Board and the player to decide but I am not worried because I am confident that he wants to stay in Giallorosso.”
James Pallotta and Franco Baldini are working really hard to persuade the player to turn down the offer from Manchester City as well as the one from Real and tied his future to the club.
“I didn’t talk with Pallotta about this but it is a pity that Daniele got to this stage. His contract should have been renewed long ago,” added Luis Enrique.
“But there are players who are not only concerned abou the money and focus more on the place where they can be happy and work better.”
