Man City defender drops Barca hint, admits he misses Real Madrid

Danilo may just have dropped a hint that he may return to Spain.

The Manchester City player has only started three Premier League games this season, and admitted that he “missed Real Madrid.”

He left the Merengues for €35 million in the summer, but he struggled to fit in at the Santiago Bernabeu.

“Messi? We have a really good squad, but you can improve everything… he is a genius. Of course I would like to play with him, he’s one of the best,” Danilo told El Larguero.

“The truth is that I miss Real Madrid,” he added.

“I enjoyed two incredible years at the club, winning important trophies and they always treated me really well, but you have to move on.

“Zidane and Guardiola? They’re both great Coaches. I had an excellent relationship with Zidane for two years and now I’m enjoying that with Guardiola.

The former Porto man is hoping to break through at Manchester City, who splurged over £200m this summer on new signings.
