Man United boss Mourinho does not want Ronaldo as Chelsea join race

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho does not want Cristiano Ronaldo back at the club, the Daily Express reports.

Ronaldo has been linked with a shock move away from Real Madrid having told the club that he wants to leave Spain, following allegations of tax fraud.

Man United were instantly linked to the 32-year-old, with Ronaldo having enjoyed a successful six years at Old Trafford, before leaving for the La Liga giants in a world record breaking transfer fee in 2009.

Mourinho, though, is said not to want to make a move for the Portugal captain because of his rocky relationship with him during his time as manager at Madrid and Ronaldo’s supposed declining form.

Ronaldo, the man who scored a phenomenal 42 goals in 46 appearances last season in a Champions League winning campaign, would more than add firepower to The Reds Premier League title bid next season, yet reports are suggesting that Mourinho is not interested.

Chelsea are also in the hunt for the global superstar, with owner Roman Abramovich seeking to build bridges with Antonio Conte by bringing Ronaldo to Stamford Bridge.
