Man United chase €45m Chelsea target as alternative to Perisic

Manchester United may have found an alternative to Ivan Perisic: Federico Bernardeschi, who is also liked by Chelsea, Juventus and Inter, according to reports from Italy (via talksport).

The Red Devils have long been chasing Perisic, but find Inter’s £44 million (€50m) pricetag to be too high, and are being linked to Bernardeschi, who recently shined for Italy’s Under-21 side by scoring in a key game against Germany.

Jose Mourinho is determined to chase down the Croatian international, but Manchester United are only willing to offer €29.6m for him (£26m).

United have been tracking Perisic since the end of the season and they are prepared to part with £26m to sign him.

With the former Wolfsburg man 28 years old, he is seen as being too expensive for that price. Bernardeschi, for his part, is valued at £40m (€45.5m), and is considered to be one of the most promising Italian youngsters of his generation.

Previously linked to Barcelona and Bayern Munich, the 23-year-old has scored 13 goals for Fiorentina this season, adding five assists.
