Man United revelation will stay for another year

Some good news for Manchester United fans: Ashley Young’s stay at Old Trafford will be extended.

This is because the Red Devils have activated a clause that will keep him in Lancashire for another year.

The winger was converted to a full-back this season because of the poor performances of Luke Shaw and Matteo Darmian.

He has made over 30 appearances, and seems to be justifying the investment made in him by Sir Alex Ferguson back in 2012, when the former Villa man was signed for around 20 million.

The 32-year-old has gone on to score two goals in all competitions and add four assists.
The winger/defender has also been named in Gareth Southgate’s England squad, ahead of the Three Lions’ friendlies with Italy and Argentina.

Young’s success has opened the door for the likes of Darmian - who is interested in a move to Juventus, and is also liked by Inter - as well as Luke Shaw, repeatedly linked to Tottenham Hotspur.
