Man Utd legend backs 'frighteningly talented' striker

Manchester United would be mad to let go of Anthony Martial, according to club legend Andy Cole.

The prolific British striker was a goalmachine back in the 90s for the Red Devils, and he claims that Martial has what it takes, saying that his talent “is absolutely frightening”.

“If you look at the talent that kid's got, it's absolutely frightening. He's got great feet, scores goals and creates goals,” Martial told ESPN.

“He's had his ups and downs with the manager already but I think he just wants the arm around the shoulder - a bit of loving and you'll definitely get the best out of him.

“I'm hoping he is going to be there a long time.”

Martial has had some problems with the Red Devils, despite knocking in seven goals in all competitions this season.

He recently admitted that Jose Mourinho was “hard” on his players, and spent a lot of time on the bench last season despite scoring 13 goals in his first Premier League campaign two years ago.
