Man Utd-Tottenham: team news and predicted line-ups

  • Farhad Hussain
Manchester United will be looking to bounce after last week’s shock defeat to Huddersfield which was the first loss of the season for the Red Devils. Whereas Spurs hammered Liverpool at home 4-1 which put them level on points with United on the league table. Jose Mourinho will be hoping that United’s midweek Carabao cup victory over Swansea will give them a boost against a ruthless Spurs side. Tottenham were stunned in their Carabao cup match as they led 2-0 at half time to go on and lose 3-2 against West Ham at Wembley.

Team News:
Manchester United’s Phil Jones and Eric Bailly are a possibility to feature in Saturdays clash, Jose Mourinho said “Jones was on the bench the other day and is okay, Bailly is a possibility”. The United manager is still without Pogba, Fellaini, Ibrahimovic and Rojo.

Tottenham’s talisman Harry Kane will be out for the away trip to Old Trafford as he suffered a hamstring injury against Liverpool. Ben Davies and Danny Rose are available for the fixture after they’ve recovered from injury and illness.

Probable starting line-ups:

Manchester United (4-2-3-1): De Gea, Valencia, Smalling, Jones, Young, Matic, Herrera, Mata, Mkhitaryan, Rashford, Lukaku

Tottenham (4-3-3): Lloris, Aurier, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Davies, Dier, Winks, Alli, Erikson, Son, Llorente
