Manchester City drop their asking price for England number one

A season spent out on-loan at Torino may have done England goalkeeper Joe Hart no harm is his career advancement, but his parent club, Manchester City, are struggling to find anyone willing to give him a Premier League lifeline.

The 30-year-old, who is surplus to requirements at The Etihad after boss Pep Guardiola bought Brazilian shot-stopper Ederson from Benfica last week for just under £40M, was thought to be one of the big names in this summer’s transfer window but The Sun reports that the Citizens are having to drop their asking price to try to encourage someone to come forward.

Guardiola is now ready to accept offers in the region of £20M for the England custodian with Leicester City and Everton believed to be interested, but the players wages of £130,000-a-week could provide a stumbling block even if one of them agrees the fee with City.
