Manchester City to complete signing of Spurs full-back after weekend internationals

In a Starsport exclusive this morning, it’s been revealed that Manchester City will tie up a £40M deal for Spurs full-back Kyle Walker after this weekend’s international matches. The Citizens have been heavily linked with the 27-year-old who is preparing with England for the forthcoming World Cup 2018 qualifier against Scotland and the friendly against France.

The player is believed to be ready to leave North London after a very public falling out with boss Mauricio Pochettino after he was left out of the FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea and the following week’s derby against Arsenal. The Sheffield born Walker is also understood to want to move nearer to his family who still live in the city.

Talks have already taken place and it’s believed that City are ready to meet Spurs chief Daniel Levy’s valuation for the player who, despite being reluctant to sell, does not see him as irreplaceable like Dele Alli or Harry Kane. Walker will earn around £100,000-a-week which will almost double his current earnings in the capital.
