Breaking: Manchester United agree £40 million deal with Inter for Perisic

After weeks of intense negotiations, it seems as though Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has finally got his man. Reports in Sunsport this morning claim that the Red Devils have finally agreed a £40M deal with Inter for Croatian midfielder Ivan Perisic.

The 28-year-old has already told Nerazzurri bosses he wants to head to Old Trafford this summer but the Italians have dug their heels in over the price, rejecting United’s opening two salvos for the player. Perisic has looked unhappy since joining the Inter squad for pre-season training in Ricone di Brunico and had to leave the camp on Saturday due to a tooth abscess.

Inter boss Luciano Spalletti is desperate for the player to stay but knows that it’s looking like an impossible task to keep him at the club next season. The Nerazzurri have made contingencies however, with Lazio’s Keita Balde set to be Perisic’s replacement at the San Siro.

The Croat agreed personal terms on a deal at Old Trafford back in May and is set to earn £100,000-a-week when the deal is finally closed; that now looks likely to happen in the coming days.
