Manchester United considering move for unsettled England star

Manchester United are considering a surprise summer move for Everton and England midfielder Ross Barkley. The 23-year-old’s future at Goodison Park looks uncertain after the player refused to enter into new contract negotiations with the club.

With just one year left on his current deal, Barkley has been linked with several big name Premier League clubs with both Spurs and Chelsea showing interest. However, the players £50M valuation and his personal demands are forcing clubs to baulk at the opportunity to move in for him.

According to The Mirror, Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has advised the club’s power brokers to keep a watching brief on the situation and should The Toffees decide to offload a player who clearly does not want to be at the club, then the Red Devils could strike to close out a deal before the transfer window deadline on August 31.

United are realistically looking for the fee to be around the £20M mark which Mourinho considers a fairer price for a player who still has some development to go through.
