Manchester United make Real Madrid a take it or leave it offer for Spanish striker

Manchester United’s patience with Real Madrid over the sale of striker Alvaro Morata is wearing thin. Having already had a £52M bid rejected by the Spanish giants, boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly ready to return with a final offer of £60M.

Writing in The Mirror, John Cross understands that the Portuguese tactician is not prepared to go any higher for the 24-year-old who was on target in Spain’s 2-2 draw with Colombia on Wednesday. With United keeper David De Gea heavily linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu but with the player himself not willing to push for a move out of Old Trafford, United are not willing to make him part of any deal to bring his fellow countryman to England.

Morata is understood to be keen on a move to the Red Devils with Mourinho reportedly preferring him to Everton frontman Romelu Lukaku, who now looks set for a return to Chelsea.
