Manchester United: Real Madrid want deal for De Gea wrapped up by the end of the week

Reports from Spain state that Real Madrid are determined to land Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea this summer. According to Marca, the Spanish giants are anxious to not have a repeat of two years ago when the infamous broken fax machine prevented them from sealing a deal for the former Atletico man.

The journal also suggest that De Gea himself is keen to get his future sorted out before the start of pre-season training but has told United chiefs that he won’t instigate a move away from Old Trafford.

It’s understood that the Red Devils are holding out for a fee of around £65M which Real believe is too high but their desire to land the 26-year-old may force them to back down and pay the current asking price.

United on the other hand, are ready to offer De Gea an improved deal thought to be worth £200,000-a-week if he decides to remain in Manchester next season.
