Manchester United set to close out the deal for Perisic

Manchester United are understood to be confident they can close out the deal for Croatian midfielder Ivan Perisic in the next 24 hours. Reports in The Mirror this morning state that the Red Devils have offered Inter Milan £39.5M for the 28-year-old plus £4.5M in add-ons which will take the final figure up to £44M.

The Italian side fly out to the Far-East later today and the journal claims that United chiefs are anxious to close out the deal before Perisic heads off with the rest of the squad on their pre-season tour.

The Nerazzurri are lining up Lazio’s Keita Balde to replace Perisic but coach Luciano Spalletti refused to comment on the situation when asked by Sportitalia journalists on Monday. The Tuscan tactician replied; “You [journalists] know everything, it's all out in the open."

Perisic himself is desperate to make the move to Old Trafford and United will now hope that their revised offer will be one that the Serie A side finds too good to turn down.
