    Marcello Lippi to be appointed as new China boss

    Former Juventus, Inter and Italy coach Marcello Lippi is set to become the new manager of senior China national team.

    The Italian tactician, winner of the 2010 world cup with the azzurri has received an offer from the Chinese FA last week and will be travelling to the Far East this week to discuss the details of his new contract.

    According to today’s edition of Il Corriere dello Sport¸Lippi has been personally named by  President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping.

    China are struggling to get a spot in the 2018 world cup sitting last in their group with just one point in four games, but objectives of the China FA are not only regarding the football pitch. China wants to organized the 2030 world cup and raise the number of football playing the game to 50 million.

    Lippi would replace Gao Hongbo who was recently fired. Lippi has already alerted his staff and is expected to give the China FA a final within days.
