    Mauro Icardi tops Atletico Madrid transfer wishlist

    Inter star striker Mauro Icardi is said to be a transfer priority of Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid, fichajes.net reports. The Argentinean striker is the Serie A giants’ leading scorer this season with 14 goals in 19 games in all competitions and the LaLiga giants are reportedly interested in welcoming his services from January 2018 which is when the colchoneros’ two-window transfer ban ends.

    Just like their city rivals Real Madrid, Atletico have been banned from registering new signings until the 2018 winter transfer window opens.

    ​Icardi was linked had been linked with a move to the Vicente Calderon last summer too, but the LaLiga giants failed to find economic agreement with Inter. The 23-year-old striker was also chased by Napoli and Juventus, but Inter rejected all the offers they received for their star striker.

    The Argentine hit-man signed a contract extension with the nerazzurri last September and a new € 100 million release clause is being included in his contract, but can only be activated by foreign clubs.
