Meet the wonderkid who’ll join Man Utd from Italian Fourth Division side

When opportunity knocks, answer the door, because some opportunities only come once, both in life and football. Luca Ercolani, a 16 year-old full-back raised in Forlì, knows this rule very well.

Ercolani has received an offer that he can't refuse: joining Manchester United and have a concrete chance of making his debut at the Theatre of Dreams, the Old Trafford, at an age when, if you are lucky, you can pick the Red Devils while playing FIFA or PES on your Play Station.

The player has impressed his coaches during a two months trial period in England, so much so the Red Devils have reportedly decided to sign him.

Ercolani is in Manchester right now to put pen to paper on a pre contract agreement, even if no one from the club has contacted Forlì yet to close the deal, but Ma Utd are believed to pay € 50.000 for the player’s services.

Ercolani was born in Ravenna on the 25th of November 1999 and is a product of Forlì Academy, even if he played for Cesena’s Allievi Nazionali last term and has also played for Rimini, He is a die-hard Juventus supporter.

His talent has been spotted by Manchester United’s scout David Williams, the same one who has brought the likes of Giuseppe Rossi and Federico Macheda to the Old Trafford.

We wish Ercolani to be more successful than hiscompatriots, included Michele Fornasier and Pierluigi Gollini, two more Italian footballers who moved to England when they were very young, before being dropped by the Red Devils.

On the other hand, Matteo Darmian, a mainstay at the club since he joined the Old Trafford last summer, will definitely help him out to settle in well.
