Milan confirm interest in €48m Man Utd target

Milan have confirmed that they’re interested in Bayern Munich star Renato Sanches.

The former Manchester United target is also liked by Juventus. He moved to Germany last season for 35m, with another 35m in bonuses, but has failed to become a regular starter.

Director of sport Massimiliano Mirabelli confirmed as much today to the Corriere dello Sport, saying that he “has known him since he was at Benfica. He’s an excellent player, and we get on very well with Bayern”.

"We’re evaluating what to do, but I’m not excluding an attempt at signing him.”

With Corentin Tolisso joining from Lyon this summer, it looks like new Coach Carlo Ancelotti is buying players he wants, and potentially rejecting those who he didn’t want to use last season.

This is confirmed by CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, who confirmed yesterday: “he [Renato Sanches] won’t have lot of game next season and we are open to discuss his possible sale”, Rummenigge said.

“Clubs interested must be aware that they’d need a huge offer to sign him and I believe AC Milan can’t match our asking price. I think that an offer in the region of  48 million could be enough to sign him.”
