Gattuso: Milan 'made a fool of ourselves'

It what was certainly an unenjoyable aspect of his new job, AC Milan manager Gennaro Gattuso spoke to the assembled media after yet another embarrassing result at the hands of a relegation team. Following the Rossoneri’s shocking 3-0 defeat to Hellas Verona, the man they call the “snarl” went to Mediaset Premium to give his assessment.

“For 25 minutes the team created a lot and then we were on the wrong side of the first goal. Then the second goal cut our legs. It was game over.”

“We changed after they scored the first goal, but we had played well until the first goal, and then, as has happened often, we collapsed after the first adversity. We made a fool of ourselves and we have to look at it.”

“Their commitment was not lacking, even at 3-0. The problem is understanding why the team does not recover well after they face early difficulties.”
