Milan and Genoa are once again working together on a new transfer deal: the two clubs are looking to sign Francesco Acerbi from Chievo Verona.

Acerbi is currently co-owned by the Rossoblu and the Gialloblu. Preziosi would like to bring the defender back to Genoa but Milan could help them in buying out the rest of the player’s services.

The player would then move to Marassi but the Rossoneri would have a reservation to buy his rights in the future.

This would be a similar deal to the one which brought Stephan El Shaarawy to San Siro with Merkel moving to Liguria.

• Inter sign Guarin?

At the end of the season, the Nerazzurri are expected to complete the switch for Colombian midfielder Fredy Guarin.

However, director Marco Branca told O Jogo that Inter will have to wait and see.

“We have time to decide whether to sign him or not,” explained the director.

“So far, I can say that we are really happy. We realised that he can add quality to our squad until the end of the season.

“We agreed a €13.5M fee with Porto for the player but have the option to buy him or not.”
