The sale of Milan has given them a new impetus in the transfer market. New boss Vincenzo Montella now has the financial muscle to be a major player before deadline day on August 31. Gustavo Gomez has already arrived to strengthen the defence and Fiorentina midfielder Milan Badelj is also keen on a move to the San Siro. There is now concrete interest in 31-year-old Besiktas midfielder Jose Sosa. The rossoneri made tentative enquiries over a month ago with the player keen to come to Serie A, unfortunately, Besiktas were adamant that the player would remain in Turkey.
 

Now Milan is ready for a new assault and next week there will be contact between the two clubs to try to unlock the deal. The Rossoneri are likely to raise their offer to €4 million with Besiktas holding out for €8-9 million. It’s unlikely Milan will meet this demand but there is a possibility to meet half-way at around €6-6.5 million including bonuses. It looks like a pivotal seven days coming up for Montella and company ahead of the new campaign.
