Milan website rants: 'Bonucci believes in our project'

Milan aren’t taking reports linking Leonardo Bonucci to other clubs very well.

The former Juventus man moved to the San Siro this summer for 40 million, but recent reports had Manchester City and Chelsea tailing him.

The Rossoneri aren’t in the best shape, sacking Coach Vincenzo Montella and coming off an embarrassing 3-0 loss to Verona at the weekend.

Their message seemed to indicate that these latest reports had touched a raw nerve, too.

“But how great it is that people have rediscovered Leo!”, the team’s official website wrote.

“People have suddenly gone from mocking Bonucci for "tipping the balance", to the threat of a sudden departure from Milan and the interest of major clubs.

“These are unacceptable allegations. The truth is that Leo has already unofficially denied them. Not only that, he’ll do it officially too.

“Leonardo Bonucci totally believes in Milan’s plans, and this just proves that pre-Christmas stories have no grounding in fact whatsoever.”
