Mkhitaryan 'fighting to stay' at Manchester United

Henrikh Mkhitaryan is fighting to remain at Manchester United.

The 28-year-old moved to Old Trafford two seasons ago for a hefty XX million, but has struggled to impose himself.

Dropped last season over a lack of form, the Armenian international is not liked by Coach Jose Mourinho, a source told the Sun.

There are, in fact, genuine concerns that his body can’t take the rigours of English football.

“There are still problems with Mkhitaryan,” the source told the Sun.

“He is battling to save his career here. There are huge reservations over him from Jose and his backroom team. He has shown an alarming sign of fatigue in recent weeks.

“He could even be handed a rest after the international break after going away with Armenia. It's going to be a busy festive period.

“Henrikh did work hard to get into shape after the concerns last year but they seem to be coming back in a way. It's a huge issue.”

The Armenian was bought for a total of €42 million two summers ago, but has yet to complete 90 minutes in EPL play this season.
